Written Examination:
Contra Costa County administers a multiple choice written test. The test will take up to 2 hours to complete.
T-Score Testing:
The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff is now accepting P.O.S.T. "T" scores of 48 or higher. Valid T-score must be within 12 months of the application cut-off date. Documented scores of 48 or higher within the past 12 months will be accepted in liew of the written test. Candidates must still successfully complete the agility test. Applicants will be notified of the agility test date. To obtain a T-Score, you can take the Post-Entry-Level Law Enforcement Test Battery examination, given by participating Law Enforcement Agencies. Currently, the following places are among those offering the test:
